What is a Master Plan?
A Master Plan serves as a roadmap for guiding the future growth, development, and opportunities within a community by establishing clear goals, strategies, and policies. As communities look ahead, a Master Plan is essential as it provides a framework for honoring a community's history, managing ongoing maintenance, enhancing quality of life, and adapting to changing needs and challenges. By outlining strategies for new policies, infrastructure upgrades, and community amenities, the Master Plan ensures that the community continues to thrive and evolve strategically over time.
What is a Parks and Recreation Plan?
A Parks and Recreation Plan is a strategic document that helps a community plan for the development, improvement, and management of its parks, trails, open spaces, and recreational programs. Updated every 5 years, the Parks and Recreation Plan serves as a short-term roadmap for how a community wants to create or enhance spaces for play, relaxation, fitness, and community gathering.
