We’re working on a Master Plan & Parks and Recreation Plan that will guide the future of our community, and we need everyone's input to make this work truly reflect Cottrellville's priorities, values and history.

We're talking about the big stuff: development, housing, jobs, roads, parks, and what we want our Township to look like in the years ahead. NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING FOR ADOPTION OF THE 5-YEAR PARKS AND RECREATION MASTER PLAN

TOWNSHIP BOARD MEETING

December 10, 2025 at 7:30 PM

NOTICE IS HEARBY GIVEN to any and all interested parties that Cottrellville Township is seeking public comment on its 5-Year, 2026-2031 Parks and Recreation Master Plan. A public hearing will take place at the Township Board meeting on December 10, 2025, at 7:30 PM at Cottrellville Township Hall (7008 Marsh Road, Marine City, MI 48039).

Cottrellville Township is preparing this 5-Year Recreation Plan in accordance with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources requirements; this Plan will serve as a guide for the development of community parks and recreation facilities and programs over the next five years.

The draft 5-Year Parks and Recreation Plan is accessible online at https://cottrellvilletwp.gov/ and https://mckenna.mysocialpinpoint.com/one-cottrellville. A physical copy of the draft Plan will also be available at Township Hall (7008 Marsh Road, Marine City, MI 48039) during normal business hours.

Cottrellville Township residents and stakeholders may submit comments in writing to ajankowski@mcka.com, or via mail to McKenna, Attn: Cottrellville Township Parks and Recreation Plan, 235 East Main Street, Suite 105, Northville, MI 48167.

NOTICE OF 30-DAY PUBLIC REVIEW AND COMMENT PERIOD FOR THE

5-YEAR PARKS AND RECREATION PLAN

Public Review Period: Wednesday, October 22, 2025 – Friday, November 21, 2025

Notice is hereby given to any and all interested parties that Cottrellville Township is seeking public comment on its 5-Year 2026-2030 Parks and Recreation Master Plan.

The required 30-day public review and comment period will begin on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 and will end on Friday, November 21st, 2025. Cottrellville Township is preparing this 5-Year Parks and Recreation Plan in accordance with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) requirements. When completed, this Plan will serve as a guide for the development of community recreation facilities and programs over the next 5 years.

Beginning on October 22, 2025, the draft 5-Year Parks and Recreation Plan will be accessible online at https://cottrellvilletwp.gov/ and https://mckenna.mysocialpinpoint.com/one-cottrellville. By outlining strategies for new policies, infrastructure upgrades, and community amenities, the Master Plan ensures that the community continues to thrive and evolve strategically over time.


What is a Parks and Recreation Plan?

A Parks and Recreation Plan is a strategic document that helps a community plan for the development, improvement, and management of its parks, trails, open spaces, and recreational programs. Updated every 5 years, the Parks and Recreation Plan serves as a short-term roadmap for how a community wants to create or enhance spaces for play, relaxation, fitness, and community gathering.
