In 2023, the cities of Wayne, Westland, Inkster, and Garden City were jointly awarded grant funding to develop a Safety Action Plan through all four communities. The Plan will create a framework for addressing the 4-city region’s most pressing transportation safety, affordability, access, and equity challenges for all transit modes and roadway users.

This means you will have an opportunity to help design streets that will be safer and easier to access in your community!

    We Need Your Input!

The Unified Safety Action Plan is currently underway and is anticipated to be adopted in Summer 2025.

How can community members get involved?

Community members from each of the four partnered cities are encouraged to contribute their local transportation knowledge and experience to inform the final strategy in the following ways:

    • Share about the challenges to getting around safely and ideas for the future of transportation through the community Comment Map.
    • Attend a Community Listening Session in Winter 2025.
    • Check this website for regular updates!
