What is a Master Plan?
A Master Plan is the main guiding policy document for private development and public projects within the city. It looks ahead 20 years and considers where and how the city should steward development, considers changes that may need to be made in order to support resident needs in the future, and evaluates recent best practices in land use for potential application within the city. State law requires periodic review and updates to municipal Master Plans to align with current conditions and anticipated future changes.
Keego Harbor received a Housing Readiness Incentive Grant through the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) to update their Master Plan with a focus on housing. The City will be working with our planning consultant, McKenna, to complete this Master Plan update. We are looking forward to collaborating with residents, businesses, and stakeholders on this endeavor!
